Dr. John Lee grew up in Tacoma, Washington before moving to Baltimore, Maryland to attend Johns Hopkins University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biophysics and then did research for a few years in a neuroscience laboratory at Johns Hopkins Hospital. The research was focused on ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease. Dr. Lee then attended the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. After graduating with a Doctor of Optometry degree, Dr. Lee worked in many different offices in NYC and New Jersey. He finally settled at Valley Eye Associates, where he has been the main Optometrist since 2013.
In addition to working with patients at Valley Eye Associates, Dr. Lee serves on the board of Vision Care USA, an international non-profit organization that performs cataract surgeries at no cost in countries throughout Asia, Africa, and South America. As part of this affiliation, Dr. Lee has been able to go on multiple trips to Northern Africa, where he has performed pre- and post-operative exams for cataract surgeries.
Outside of the office, Dr. Lee enjoys traveling, cooking, and trying out new restaurants.
